Regulations

Registration: Adults and juveniles; 2 tiers; within 10 days after release or transfer to halfway house; foreign convictions are registrable; notification of changes: 10 days incoming and outgoing also

Notification: passive; mandatory; no specified time frame; applicable to sex offender adults and juveniles whose disposition dates are after their 18th birthday; offender required to notify law enforcement for college where attending or working

Risk Designation: no specified tiers; no provision for hearing

Tracking: verification of registry info 90 days for felony or annually for misdemeanor in person; duration of registration 10 years after release or 15 years after registering (whichever longer), or life for certain convictions

Penalties: misdemeanor or felony, up to 4, 7, or 10 years in jail and fine (initial registration); misdemeanor with prison and/or fine (verification); prison (registration fee); also revocation of probation/parole/youthful trainee statue for all of above
