Regulations

Registration: Adults; 2 tiers; within 10 days upon conviction, release, probation, or parole; foreign convictions are registrable; notification of changes: 10 days incoming and outgoing, employment change in 7 days

Notification: passive; mandatory; no specified time frame; applicable to adult and juvenile sex offenders convicted after July 1, 1979; offender required to notify law enforcement for college where attending or working

Risk Designation: no specified tiers; no provision for hearing

Tracking: verification of registry info 90 days or annually; duration of registration is life; FBI notified; electronic monitoring

Residency Requirements: must be 1,000 feet from any public or private school or day care in existence

Penalties: Class A misdemeanor; for more serious tier or 2nd conviction, Class D felony
