Regulations
Registration: Adults and juveniles, 2 tiers; prior to release; at placement under supervision; within 10 days of entering state; consideration of foreign convictions not specified; ; notification of changes: at least 10 days before residing at new address, at least 5 days before new school or work
Notification: active; mandatory, extent dependent upon tier; within 45 days; applicable to adult and juvenile sex offenders, except registration and notification ends at age 18 if act committed under age 14 and offender no longer poses a threat; offender required to notify law enforcement for college and municipality where attending or working within 10 days
Risk Designation: 3 specified tiers; no provision for hearing
Tracking: verification of registry info 90 days or annually, manner in which to verify prescribed by AG; duration of registration rests upon petition after 15 years for some offenses or life for others; FBI notified
Penalties: Crime of 4th degree (up to 18 months)
