Regulations

Registration: Adults; 3 tiers; at least 10 days prior to release, parole; consideration of foreign convictions not specified; notification of changes: no more than 10 days, incoming

Notification: passive; permissive, with a 900 number for public information and annual directory; no specified time frame; applicable to adult and juvenile sex offenders; offender required to notify law enforcement for college where attending or working within 10 days

Risk Designation: 3 specified tiers; sentencing court determines risk/notification, can be appealed after 13 yrs of serving

Tracking: verification of registry info 90 days or annually by mail, level 3 offender must appear for photo annually, level 1 and 2 offenders must appear every 3 years; duration of registration 10 years or life (can be relieved under certain circumstances); FBI notified

Penalties: First offense Class A misdemeanor; subsequent offense Class D felony; probation/parole may be revoked
