Regulations

Registration: Adults and juveniles; 3 tiers; within 5 days coming into any county; foreign convictions are registrable; notification of changes: 20 days prior to change of address or educational institution or 5 days if change in work, 7 days outgoing or new state's regulation (whichever less)

Notification: active; mandatory; within 72 hours to the community, within 7 days to schools, day care, etc.; applicable to adult sex offenders and sexual predators and juveniles convicted after January 2002; offender required to notify law enforcement for college where attending or working immediately

Risk Designation: 3 specified tiers; hearing required

Tracking: verification of registry info 90 days or annually; duration of registration 10 years, 20 years, or life; FBI notified

Residency Requirements: may not live within 1,000 feet of school; additional employment restriction: may not work or volunteer at school, child care center, park, playground or other place where under 18 congregate

Penalties: Felony or misdemeanor; delinquent juvenile's parents may also be prosecuted
