Regulations

Registration: Adults and juveniles; 3 tiers; within 24 hours of release, sentencing, or entering state to live, work or attend school; consideration of foreign convictions not specified; notification of changes: within 24 hours

Notification: active; mandatory (for level 2 to schools, etc., for level 3 to community); no specified time frame; applicable to adult and juvenile sex offenders; offender required to notify law enforcement for college where attending or working within 24 hours;

Risk Designation: 3 specified tiers; parole board determines risk designation

Tracking: verification of registry info annually and quarterly for the first 2 years (by mail), or for life if sexually violent predator or recidivist (in person); duration of registration 10 years or life for adults, 15 years for juveniles if considered sexually violent predators or recidivists; FBI notified

Penalties: Felony (violation of conditions of release)
