Regulations

Registration: Adults and juveniles; 2 tiers; at conviction; prior to release or probation; foreign convictions not registrable; notification of changes: within 10 days incoming, 3 days outgoing, change of address in state 3 days

Notification: active; mandatory (info released to "relevant persons"); no specified time frame; applicable to individuals convicted of a sex crime

Risk Designation: special category of "sexually violent predator"; hearing required for determination of this status

Tracking: verification of registry info 90 days for sexually violent offenders or annually; duration of registration 10 years or life; FBI notified

Penalties: First offense, not more than 2 years jail and/or fine; subsequent offense, not more than 3 years jail and/or fine
